It takes only five days for China's charter plane "Lifeline" to re-deploy European epidemic prevention supplies to China

At 4: 41 a.m. on February 26, 2020, Liege-Hangzhou 747-400F chartered plane 3V815 safely landed in Hangzhou from Liege, Belgium. The cargoes on board were 68 tons of raw materials for protective clothing urgently needed in the front-line of domestic epidemic battle.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, Sinotrans, which has a global network and a strong air transportation capacity, has always been active in the forefront of transporting epidemic prevention materials. Faced with volatile European air transport capacity, Sinotrans Global E-Commerce Logistics Co.,Ltd. overcame difficulties and arranged the Liege-Hangzhou chartered flights to ensure a smooth air passage for the China-Europe cargo planes. Once learning about the need in China, Sinotrans Global E-Commerce Logistics Co.,Ltd. determined to ensure the rapid and safe delivery of this batch of emergency medical supplies to the production line. Sinotrans, in accordance with product characteristics and timeliness requirements, coordinated internally with its Sinotrans Integrated Logistics, Hangzhou branch and Belgian branch to arrange for charter flights as transportation means, and specially formulated a special transportation plan to provide the customer with the one-stop end-to-end logistics solutions.

In the current context, improving logistics efficiency was to win time for life-saving! While waiting for the arrival of the goods, Sinotrans’ charter flight team orderly arranged the overseas booked freight space, customs clearance for export, delivery packeting and loading, domestic unloading, cargo breakdown and transfer, document preparation and other formalities, communicated and coordinated with the consignee and consignor, domestic and overseas airports, customs agencies, warehouses, etc. to ensure the smooth implementation of the plan. On February 23, the charter flight carrying 60 consignments, approx. 31 tons of raw materials flew to China, and on February 25, another charter flight carrying 72 consignments, approx. 37 tons of medical supplies continued to fly to China. The second chartered plane arrived at Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport on the early morning of February 26, and all the medical supplies arrived as scheduled. On the same day, Sinotrans quickly completed customs clearance and arranged for the goods to be transferred from the customs bonded warehouse to Sinotrans warehouse in Hangzhou, which were then sent to various factories according to the batch number of the goods. It only took five days in all to complete customs clearance and transport these two batches of goods from Europe to China in two consecutive charter flights. This timeliness was extremely remarkable in the air freight industry.

In view of serious suspension and cancellation of flights from Europe to China, and the large quantities of epidemic prevention supplies stranded in Europe, Sinotrans has specially arranged to increase the frequency of charter flights from Liege to Hangzhou from three to five per week starting from March 2020. Sinotrans, along with customer units, will continue to give full play to its professional advantages in the fight against the epidemic, and fulfill its social mission as a central enterprise. It will spare no effort in boosting the fight against the epidemic and safeguarding the people’s health.
